Not simply the singer's Beauty, as beauty by itself would spoil quickly. Nor even Talent, since even genuine Talent gives no insurance against egocentricity or viciousness. Here, what draws me back can only be the passion, patience, humor and unfailing gratitude that Lisa has bestowed upon thousands of individual listeners--even to the point of risking her health. She has created and presides over a true Community in which I have met people I would call friends. My Star video captures three phases of Lisa's journey--from an unadorned and unpackaged human being striving to perfect her craft, to a now-dawning phase as an earth-bound star of worldly accolades, and eventually to the inevitable passage to celestial event. But her voice--this new emotion--will survive. Soon, the thousands will become millions, and with bittersweet enthusiasm we will share Lisa with the larger world.
