Description English commentary below! www.g-egg.info 9/13, 9/27, 10/11, 10/25, 11/15, 11/29 -- Here's a little tribute to the funky B-3 sounds of the 60's and early 70's as they used to be played by artists like Jimmy McGriff, Groove Holmes, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Reuben Wilson and countless others (each in their own unique style.) - - One of my major influences in picking up the organ was James Brown's own SMASH label recordings from the 1960's in which he played B-3 but didn't sing. The drum track is actually from an old CD of mine... (Back track from "GET WICKED" on my THEM THAT SWINGETH CD.) The drummer is Rudy Petschauer from Jack McDuff's heating station... maybe not a household name, but up there with the best of the best pocket drummers. oh in case you're wondering: I'm playing a NORD C-1... Both it and the drum track are run into a "midi interface" which was then run directly into the camera. There is no Leslie speaker, no edits, no special effects... the sound you hear is raw and unprocessed. - - The changes, of course, are Blues in Bb.
