Description
A farcical pastiche of the investigative journalist piece, this film picks up the trail of a stolen artwork via representatives of 'Banksy' and 'The Guardian' correspondent charged with brokering the hostage situation, culminating in face-to-face interviews with the culprits and never before seen footage of the Arto-Political-Humour-Terrorists in the act. A knowing nod to Orson Welles' F for Fake, a wink to Herzog's character profiles and a shifty glance over the shoulder to Broomfields Chasing Maggie. The Drinker lampoons the blurred ethics of documentary making, mixing absurdity with outrage and introducing Art Kieda, larger than life caricatures that seek to agitate the London contemporary art world.
