Description Three weeks and one hundred dollars later, we lit our flame tube for the first time. 192 half-inch spaced holes drilled along the length of the 2 inch diameter pipe; a 4 inch speaker sealed to one end connected to a sound source (PC, mp3 player, microphone); a propane inlet at the other end connected to a 20 gallon tank. Once lit, sound waves produced by the speaker can be seen as sine waves in the flames. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength, and vice versa. ---Sean Michnowski, Joe Spacone, Adam Wisniewski
